GOOD news to Manila policemen and personnel.
Mayor Isko Moreno announced that he has already signed the release of the cash allowance being given by the city government to the policemen assigned at the Manila Police District (MPD).
MPD chief Gen. Leo Francisco thanked the mayor for the concern for his men, numbering 4,400 in all.
According to Moreno, the said city allowance covers both uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the MPD.
City treasurer Jasmin Talegon said that with the release of the said funds, each MPD member will be receiving P15,000.
The said amount represents their monthly allowance of P2,500, for the period of from January to June or the first two quarters of the year.
Both Moreno and Vice Mayor now Mayor-elect Honey Lacuna have said the grant of such allowance is the only way that the local government of Manila can show its gratitude for the work that the MPD had done for the city and its residents.
The MPD is tasked with maintaining peace and order in the entire city of Manila. (Baby Cuevas)
