MAYOR ISKO, VM-ELECT SERVO GIVE AID TO BASECO FIRE VICTIMS

MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno and Vice Mayor-elect Yul Servo led the distribution of financial help for the families whose houses were gutted by fire that hit a residential area in Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila.

Social welfare chief Re Fugoso said that bes on reports, about 300 houses were razed during the said fire that occurred on the evening of May 19.


“Para sa mga kababayan kong nasunugan, pumanatag po kayo dahil may gobyerno po kayong masasandalan at kakalinga sa inyo. Hinding-hindi ko kayo pababayaan,” Moreno said.

The Manila Bureau of Fire Proection (BFP) reported that the said fire hit the area at 7:40 p.m.

The fire was said to have started in the two-storey residential home of a certain Juliet Mongado. It reached fourth alam and was declared fire- out at 12:02 a.m.


Probers said the firefighters had a hard time putting out the fire due to the narrowness of the alleys.

No one was reported hurt or killed in the fire that left an estimated P1 million damage to property. (Baby Cuevas)
