Mayor Honey Lacuna commended the efforts of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) headed by Dennis Viaje and the Manila Police District under Gen. Leo Francisco for keeping the streets of Manila in order and safe at all times.
Lacuna also called on both the MPD and the MTPB to continue their good work for the benefit of Manilans and those who come to the city for various kinds of reasons.
“Di matatawaran ang galing ng ating kapulisan sa pagtitiyak nila sa kaligtasan at pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at kapayapaan sa lahat ng sulok ng ating siyudad,” Lacuna said.
The first lady mayor expressed belief that if there is guaranteed peace and order among the populace, active growth in terms of livelihood, tourism and economy in the city will certainly follow.
“Nananawagan ako sa ating Manila Police District na paigtingin pa ang kanilang mga pagkilos upang mapangalagaang mabuti ang bawat Manilenyo at ang lahat ng mga taong dadako dito,” she added.
She also credited the MTPB for keeping orderliness in the streets and properly enforcing all traffic regulations.
“Napakalaki rin ng ginampanan ng MPD, katuwang ang ating sa pagsasaayos ng ating mga kakalsadahan, sa pagpapatupad ng mga batas trapiko upang maibalik ang kalsada sa mga motorista at ang mga sidewalk para sa pedestrian,” Lacuna said.
Thus, she expressed hope that the MTPB and the MPD will continuously serve as implementing arms in keeping roads and sidewalks free from any kinds of obstruction. (Baby Cuevas)
