MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno announced that the distribution of the mid-year bonus for thousands of employees of the Manila city government begins today, May 16.
Moreno also commended the city employees and called on them to move on with their normal lives, regardless of who they voted for during the recently-concluded elections.
The mayor set an example when he made a public announcement congratulating President-elect Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. in view of the results of the said polls.
Alongside this, he called for sobriety among his supporters and signed a memorandum requiring permits for all rallies.
He also assured the parents of students studying at the two city-run universities, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and the Universidad de Manila, that their children will be protected, as he prohibited the use of school premises for rallies and similar activities.
Moreno himself said he is moving on, vowing to continue serving the residents of Manila until the end of his term on June 30.
In fact, right after the elections, Moreno resumed work in City Hall and took care of all the paperworks, among others.(Baby Cuevas)
