MANILA CITY HALL CLOCK TOWER MUSEUM NOW A TOURIST SPOT

Before ending his term, Mayor Isko Moreno signed an executive order declaring as a tourist spot in the city, the iconic Manila City Hall Clock Tower Museum.

Moreno himself led the ribbon-cutting of the said museum, joined by secretary to the mayor, now city administrator Bernie Ang, National Museum Director Jeremy Barns, National Historical Commission of the Philippines Chairman Rene Escalante, National Anti-Poverty Commission Undersecretary Penelope Belmonte and Intramuros Administrator Guiller Asido.

It will be recalled that calls have been made to rehabilitate the said clock tower but that it was only realized after 25 years.


When Moreno assumed office, he laid out plans to beautify and turn the said clock tower into a major tourist attraction.

The Manila Clock Tower Museum features various multisensory exhibit of historical events in Manila.


The “Battle for Manila” portion was designed and carefully chosen and arranged by Ohm David and Elba Cruz.

Meanwhile, visual artist Maestro Rene Robles, along with international artists Sherwin Paul Gonzales and Nante Carandang, showcased their international art movement titled, “Assertionism.”


Among other things that can be found in the said museum are other award-winning artworks from the Tawid Gallery and masterpieces of furniture artist Agi Pagkatipunan. (Baby Cuevas)
