Hindi isasama sa “Walk of Faith” na isasagawa sa Enero 8 ang imahe ng Poong Itim na Nazareno.
Kasabay nito,pinaalalahanan ng mga organizer ng Kapistahan ng Black Nazarene ang mga deboto na huwag dalhin ang kanilang mga life-sized replicas ng Black Nazarene sa Walk of Faith procession.
Sinabi ni Alex Irasga, Quiapo Church adviser, na lahat ng elemento sa pagdiriwang ng Kapistahan ng Itim na Nazareno ay gagawin maliban sa tradisyunal na prusisyon ng imahe o ‘Traslacion’.
“Our goal is to be able to conduct a ‘Walk of faith” or procession orderly, peacefully and with a high level of piety to affirm the devotion in the faith of our Lord Jesus Nazarene,” paliwanag ni Irasga.
Napag-alaman sa Nazareno 2023 organizers na magsisimula ang prusisyon alas-2 ng madaling araw.
“We will not allow images that are more than 2 feet, only allowed are replicas that can be carried by hand. We have already contacted the police that there will be checkpoints on the roads entering the Grandstand and Quiapo and all those who are carrying huge images will not be allowed,” dagdag ni Irasga.
Bago ang Walk of Faith ,magsasagawa muna ng “midnight mass” si Fr. Rufino Sescon. Jr., Rector ng Minor Basilica ng Itim na Nazareno Black Nazarene.
Hinikayat rin ang mga deboto na sasama sa prusisyon na magsuot ng facemask, magdala ng alcohol at sumunod sa social distancing.
“You can bring a handkerchief, you can bring a candle, wear face masks, bring a disinfectant,” dagdag pa ni Irasga.
Kaugnay nito,sinabi ni Irasga sa mga deboto na dalhin ang lahat ng replica ng Itim na Nazareno sa Plaza Miranda para mabasbasan sa Disyembre 27 hanggang 29.
Samantala, sa Enero 9, si Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula ang mangunguna sa midnight mass sa Quirino Grandstand.
Mananatili naman ang imahe ng Itim na Nazareno sa Quirino Grandstand mula Enero 7, 2023. (Arsenio Tan)
