GET YOUR KIDS VACCINATED FOR F2F CLASSES — MAYOR HONEY

MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna is urging parents and guardians to have their kids or wards fully vaccinated and if eligible, even boosted, in preparation for the planned face-to-face classes in November.

“Habang may panahon pa ay nananawagan tayo sa mga magulang, lolo at lola, pabakunahan na po ninyo nang kumpleto ang mga anak at apo ninyo,” said Lacuna.

She assured that in Manila, the mass vaccination for the eligible population continues without letup.

Lacuna said that those aged five to 11 may already get their first and second doses while those aged 12 to 17 may avail of first, second and booster shots.

According to the mayor, minors aged 12-17 who are immunocompromised are recommended to get their vaccination in any of the six city-run hospitals, namely Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, Ospital ng Tondo, Justice Abad Santos General Hospital, Ospital ng Sampaloc, Ospital ng Maynila and the Sta. Ana Hospital.

This way, the vaccinees may be monitored for possible effects of the vaccines, Lacuna explained.

According to the mayor, those who are not immunocompromised may get their shots at the health centers, designated shopping malls and hospitals too.

Lacuna, herself a doctor, stressed the need to get vaccinated and boosted as this would provide added protection against COVID-19 which remains very much in our midst.#

Reports have it that recently, the number of COVID-19 cases being admitted in hospitals continues to rise.

Majority of those being hospitalized are unvaccinated, she further notes. (Baby Cuevas)
