MAYOR Honey Lacuna vowed continued premier health services in the city of Manila after the Sta. Ana Hospital (SAH), which is headed by Dr. Grace Padilla as its director and which served as the city’s COVID center at the height of the pandemic until now, got the highest commendation from no less than the Department of Health (DOH).
DOH Officer-In-Charge Maria Rosario Singh – Vergeire, accompanied by Lacuna, Padilla and Manila Health Department chief Dr. Arnold ‘Poks’ Pangan, visited SAH to check out its newly-improved facilities and state-of-the-art premises.
Padilla said that Vergeire particularly visited the vaccine cold storage facility, physical rehabilitation area and dialysis center and expressed pride that the SAH was the first hospital to have been visited by the DOH head.
During the said visit, Lacuna told Vergeire that the SAH under the directorship of Padilla provides full coverage to all patients as part of the Department’s goal of providing access to quality and holistic healthcare services to the people.
In her message delivered at the short program prepared for the said visit, Vergeire extended her gratitude to Lacuna and the officers and staff of the SAH “for showing excellency and innovation, which further proves that the country is continuous in providing quality healthcare for all Filipinos.”
In response, Padilla said they are “grateful, honored and humbled by the hospital visit and heartwarming words of our OIC, DOH Sec. Maria Rosario Vergeire… congratulations, Team Sta Ana Hospital.”
Lacuna said that apart from the SAH, Vergeire also visited the COVID-19 Field Hospital where the Health Secretary was toured by its Director, Dr. Arlene Dominguez.
The first lady mayor said she is glad that that after seeing all the facilities at the SAH such as the newly-renovated Emergency Room, the Manila Infectious Disease Control Center, vaccine storage facility, hemodialysis and robotics units, Vergeire expressed how impressed she was and expressed hope that all other health units in the country will emulate what Manila is doing.
