The city’s mass vaccination program, which falls under the supervision of Vice Mayor and incoming Mayor Honey Lacuna, as a doctor and as head of the city’s health cluster, is being carried out simultaneously in designated shopping malls, health centers and city-run hospitals.
Moreno and Lacuna also agreed that the city maintain an “open policy” meaning even non-Manilans can avail of the vaccination upon presentation of necessary requirements.
In the case of eligible children, the city included the New Manila Zoo as an additional vaccination hub to encourage more to avail of the vaccination, with the end purpose of achieving the desired immunized population.
The strategy worked, as the children and their companions were allowed to take the opportunity of also being able to roam around the zoo, free of charge. (Baby Cuevas)
