BI arrests another fake Pinoy

Bureau of Immigration (BI) intelligence agents under its chief, Fortunato ‘Jun’ Manahan, Jr., arrested another foreign national misrepresenting himself as a Filipino.

Intelligence agents arrested Chinese man Wu Zhishi, 45, along J. Pimintel St., Purok 3, Brgy. V in Daet, Camarines Norte.

Manahan said the operation was in coordination with government intelligence operatives, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Presidential Anti Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).

Wu was said to have been using illegally-acquired government-issued documents and claiming to be a Filipino in various dealings in the area.

Agents posed as customers in his business and effected the arrest morning of June 25. He presented an expired Retiree’s Visa card, denying the use of a fake Philippine identity. However, he was reported to have used Philippine identification cards to secure a firearm license.

Wu was immediately arrested and was later transferred to the PAOCC for physical custody. His legal custody remains with the BI as he undergoes deportation proceedings for violation of Philippine immigration laws.
