Kumpiskado sa Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) ang marijuana-infused candies, vape cartridges na naglalaman ng cannabis oil at dried marijuana leaves na nakatago sa inbound parcels na idineklarang candies sa Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) sa Pasay City nitong January 26, 2026.
Ayon kay BOC-NAIA District Collector Atty. Yasmin Mapa, ang nasabing operation ay isinagawa alinsunod sa direktiba ni President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. na palakasin ang border protection at anti-drug campaign ng gobyerno, sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG).
Ani Mapa, ang parcels ay na-flag dahil sa kahina-hinalang indicators at sumailalim sa physical examination at inspection kung saan natagpuan ang 63 packs ng marijuana-infused candies at vape cartridges na naglalaman ng 19.5 ml ng cannabis oil at dried marijuana leaves weighing na tumitimbang ng 3.5 grams.
Ang mga kumpiskadong items at claimant ay nai-turn over na sa PDEA para sa kaululang disposition at inquest proceedings para sa paglabag ng Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended) at Republic Act No. 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act).
Pinuri ni BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno ang BOC-NAIA personnel at aniya, “This interception underscores the Bureau’s continued efforts to detect and prevent the entry of illegal drugs through postal and courier channels. We remain firm in safeguarding our borders and protecting the public.”
Ayon kay Mapa, ang operation ay bahagi ng pinaigting na kampanya upang di makapasok ang anumang iligal na droga sa bansa.
