Hindi na itutuloy ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. , ang military chopper deal sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Russia.
“I think it has already been determined. It was already determined by the previous administration that the deal will not carry through, will not go on,”ayon kay Marcos , Jr.
Una nang kinansela ng nakalipas na administrasyong Duterte ang kontrata ng pagbili ng 16 military heavy -lift helicopters sa Russia dahil sa pangamba sa Western sanctions.
Ayon kay Marcos, may alternatibo na umanong pagkukunan ng chopper kung saan may supply deal na sa Estados Unidos.
“Mayroon na tayong kapalit. Unfortunately, we made a downpayment that we are hoping to negotiate to get at least a percentage of that back,” ani Marcos.
“But, the deal, as it stood, maybe at the beginning or in the middle of last year, has already been canceled and we have secured another alternative supply for those helicopters that we need,” dagdag ni Marcos. (Carl Angelo)
