MANILA IS THIRD CITY WITH HIGHEST LOCALLY-SOURCED REVENUES

MANILA ranked number three in the list of local government units with the “Highest Locally-Sourced Revenues for FY 2021.”

This was proudly announced by Mayor Honey Lacuna, who said that the city of Manila was cited as the third top performing city for having raised P11. 56 million in revenues.

This, she said, happened despite the fact that the country remains in a pandemic situation.

In this light, Lacuna thanked the Department of Finance for the recognition and all the stakeholders in the city, as she also lauded the business owners who helped Manila achieve the said ranking.

“Maraming salamat sa lahat ng ating mga stakeholders at sa mga businesses, sa inyong pagbabayad ng mga buwis,” the lady mayor said.

She stressed that with the payments being made by business establishment owners, the city government is able to undertake many programs and services for the benefit of Manila residents, specially the underprivileged.

“Dahil sa inyo ay madaming nagagawa ang lungsod, pabalik sa mga Manilenyo,” Lacuna said.

Quezon City, which is the largest city in the country, topped the list made by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), followed by Makati City which is the country’s foremost financial district. (Baby Cuevas)
