Nilinaw ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra na patuloy na masusunod ang resolusyon ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) kaugnay sa mandatory na pagsusuot ng facemask sa anumang executive orders na i-isyu ng local government units(LGUs).
Ang pahayag ay ginawa ni Guevarra matapos hingan ng komento kaugnay sa executive order inisyu ni Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia na gawing optional ang pagsusuot ng facemask sa mga well ventilated at open space sa Cebu Province.
“The IATF resolutions on the mandatory wearing of face masks, whether indoor or outdoor, are incorporated in and/or enabled by executive orders issued by the president,” ayon kay Guevarra.
Sinabi pa ni Guevarra na sa pagitan ng executive order inisyu ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa pamamagitan ng IATF resolution ,ang EO ang masusunod.
Sa panig naman ng Department of Health (DOH) una nitong sinabi na hindi sila kinonsulta ng Cebu Provincial Government sa desiayon nito.
Nanindigan ang DOH sa kanilang posisyon na ang pagsusuot ng facemask ang pinaka epektibong paraan para labanan ang COVID19.
Samantala, sinabi ng Department of the Interior and Local Government(DILG) na iniutos ni Duterte ang patuloy na implementasyon ng facemask. (Arsenio Tan)
