A man was arrested by the Public Corruption Division (PCD) for extorting money from his former girlfriend,with a threat that he will post their compromising photos if she will not give him money.
NationalBureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Jaime Santiago said the suspect, identified only as Dibson, was arrested during an entrapment operation in Mandaluyong City on July 6, 2024.
The suspect will be brought before the Prosecutor’s Office of Mandaluyong for inquest proceedings for a case of robbery-extortion in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
Samtiago said the suspect had threatened to post ‘uncompromising’ photos of the victim and demanded P30,000.
An entrapment operation was conducted by the PCD and the suspect was arrested in the act of receiving the money from the victim.
