A man died instantly after reportedly falling off an elevator shaft inside a condominium building in Malate, Manila.
According to a belated sketchy report from the Manila Police District (MPD), the police got a call at around 3:30 a.m. regarding an accident where the victim fell of the elevator shaft of the Victoria De Manila II located at the corner of Taft Avenue and Malvar Street in Barangay 696.
The lifeless victim was at the 12th floor elevator shaft, wearing a yellow t-shirt and black shorts and shoes. He sustained injuries in the head and body.
Initial probe said that the victim had come from a drinking spree with his friends and went back to the condominium at past 1 a.m. and upon exiting the elevator, he lost his balance, causing him to end up siting on the floor.
The victim then leaned on what turned out to be a Hardiflex board near the elevator area but the board gave way, causing the victim to fall straight down.
At around 3 a.m., the victim was pronounced dead by responding personnel from the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) headed by Arnel Angeles.
