NADAKIP sa isinagawang law enforcement operation ng AFP-Joint task Force Sulu ang pangalawang asawa ni Abu Sayyaf sub-leader at bomb maker Mundi Sawadjaan Barangay Tulay sa Jolo, Sulu nitong nakalipas na lingo.
Kinilala ang hinihinalang would “be bomber” na Nursitta Mahalli Malud, alyas Kirsita Ismael na nagsisilbing finance officer ni Sawadjaan at umanoy reposnable rin sa procurement ng Improvised explosive device materials para sa grupo ng Abu Sayyaf.
Ayon sa Joint Task Force Sulu armado ng search warrant for violation of RA 9516 on the illegal possession of explosives ay inaresto ng magkasanib puwersa ng 35th Infantry Batallion sa pamumuno ni Ltc Domingo S Robles Jr at 7th Special Action Battalion ng Special Action Force (SAF) ng PNP si Nursitta Mahalli Malud, na kilala rin bilang Kirsita Ismael.
Nakuhaan ng pulisya ng mga pampasabog at sangkap sa paggawa ng bomba ang naturang suspek kabilang ang 81mm mortar cartridge, detonation cord, blasting cap, isang 9-volt battery, at iba pang paraphernalia.
Kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng Jolo Police, ang suspek habang ang mga nakalap na evidence ay ibinigay naman sa 9th Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Provincial Field Unit at Provincial Explosive and Canine Unit
Ayon kay Joint Task Force – Sulu Commander BGen Ignatius N Patrimonio, “Bombing has no place in Sulu. We need to zero-in the leadership of Local Terrorist Group and its members as soon as possible to prevent any atrocities to happen. We cannot allow any bombing attack, because it will only hamper the furtherance of the relative peace Sulu has today.” (VICTOR BALDEMOR)
