MISMONG si Philippine Army Commanding General Ltgen Romeo S. Brawner ang nanguna sa sinagawang commissioning ceremony para kina Leyte 4th District Representative, Hon. Richard I. Gomez at sa asawa nitong si Ormoc City Mayor, Hon. Lucy Marie Torres Gomez .
Sa ginanap na pinning of rank kapwa tinanggap ng mag asawa na parehong political at movie personality ang kanilang Lieutenant Colonel rank sa Army Reserve force kasunod ng commissioning ceremony na pinangunahan ni Gen. Brawner, Jr., sa Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
Sa nasabing okasyon ay pinapurihan ni Lt. Gen. Brawner, si Lt. Col. Richard Gomez dahil sa pagiging matagumpay na actor, athlete at public servant na ang vision ay makatulong sa bansa.
Hindi lamang sa pagpapakita ng kagandahang loob kung hindi maging sa pagpapaganda ng imahe ng Philippine Army sa mata ng sambayanan , ganun din ang kanyang butihing maybahay na si Lt. Col. Lucy Marie Torres Gomez na isang mabuting public servant at actress ani Gen Brawner.
