Inaresto ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) sa Dumaguete City si Pryde Henry Alipit Teves, kapatid ni dating ni Negros Oriental congressman Arnolfo Teves Jr..
Ang pagkakadakip kay Teves, 51, ay kasunod ng kanyang pagkakadeklara bilang most-wanted person (MWP) sa provincial at regional levels.
Napag-alaman na ang kaso laban kay Teves ay nag-ugat sa paglabag sa ‘Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012’, na inisyu ng Cebu City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 74 noong Mayo 13, 2024.
Nagpahayag naman ng kasiyahan si Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla dahil sa pagkakaaresto kay Teves.
“The arrest of Pryde Henry Alipit Teves demonstrates our resolute commitment to fighting terrorism and upholding the rule of law,” ani Remulla.
“The CIDG’s diligent efforts have ensured that those who threaten peace and security are brought to justice,” dagdag pa nito.
Una nang idineklarang terorista si Teves ng Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) noong Hulyo 26, 2023, sa pamamagitan ng Resolution Number 43 dahil sa pagkakasangkot niya sa mga kaso ng pagpatay at harassment sa Negros Oriental.
Nagrekomenda ang korte ng P200,000 piyansa para sa pansamantalang kalayaan ni Teves.
