The ‘Kalinga sa Maynila’ forum has been resumed by our beloved Mayor Honey Lacuna so that ordinary residents may be able to meet and direct their concerns to city officials concerned.
The said forum of our local party Asenso Manileno was suspended during the holiday season but this was only to give way to the holding of gift-giving activities which also benefitted the citizens of Manila.
During the holding of such for a, Mayor Honey would bring with her the heads of offices in Manila City Hall that are usually being visited by the residents for various kinds of problems.
This way, whatever concern or problem is raised during the forum may be addressed instantly as all that the mayor has to do is direct the issue to the department head concerned and who is also present in the forum.
The mayor is aware that sometimes, when people go to government offices, they are confused as to where to go, who to see and even go home frustrated either because their concerns were not attended to properly, they have been cut off or the one in charge who can solve their problems is not in the office.
Specifically, the mayor is concerned about senior citizens whom she said should not be going back and forth to follow up on a certain problem.
In all humility, our lady mayor expresses thanks each time she leads the holding of a forum most specially to the residents who attend to make her aware of their problems or even just to get a glimpse of her.
It is an innovative way for Mayor Honey to bring the services of the city government directly to the constituency, thus making its residents save on precious time, effort and transportation money.
Mayor Honey said that most of the time, it is the residents who go to City Hall for various concerns so that she thought of holding a forum that goes around the various zones of the 896 barangays, this time to bring the local government closer and directly to the people.
The said regular forum is open to all kinds of concern, complaint and suggestions and it was conceived by the Asenso Manileno, under the stewardship of Mayor Honey, as a way of giving back to the residents the trust they have given which put the mayor and all the local officials from our party in their current position and for the opportunity to be of help to all Manilans.
In her short message at the resumption of “Kalinga sa Maynila” in the fifth district of the city, Mayor Honey stated with pride how united the party members are, from the mayor down to the councilors.
Since all city officials consider themselves as a family, the mayor also wants to embrace the residents as part of the family.
Truly, Mayor Honey displays the good qualities of a woman and a loving mother in the way she handles her work. If only for this, we are truly proud of her.
