PINAALALAHANAN ni Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo ang lahat ng Hukom sa bansa na suriin ang kanilang mga sarili.
Ayon kay Gesmundo,ang misyon ng mga Hukom aynibigay ang hustisya sa pamamagitan ng pag obserba sa apat na”judicial virtues” ang pagiging competence, integrity, probity, at independence.
“Now that we have eased into normalcy after two years of living dangerously during the pandemic, it is time to reexamine ourselves and reflect on our faithfulness to our mission of dispensing justice. Let us always be reminded that being a judge is a lifetime of discipline and training towards the faithful observance of these four virtues of competence, integrity, probity, and independence,” pahayag ni Gesmundo sa harap ng Philippine Judges Association (PJA) Fellowship Night kasama ang mga Associate Justices, at opisyal ng SC officials of the Supreme sa Diplomatic Hall, Grand Ballroom, Marriot Hotel sa Pasay City.
Ito ang unang pagkakataon na nakipag sosyalan su Gesmundo matapos na paluwagin ang alert level restriction sa Metro Manila.
Sinabi ni Gesmundo na ang mga trial judges ay itinuturing na Judiciary frontliners.
“The strength of the Judiciary lies on the first and second level courts; you are the base of the pyramid and the strength of the pyramid lies on its base. If the base is weak, expect that those in the upper level will collapse,” giit ni Gesmundo.
Iginiit rin ni Gesmundi abg kahalagahan ng teknolohiya sa court process gaya ng “videoconferencing technology na napatunayan ng convinient at nagagamit sa mga hearings partikular na sa panahon na mataas ang kaso ng COVID19.
Gayundin,sinabi ni Gesmundo na tinutugunan na ang kakulangan sa court rooms kung saan pinag aaralan na Technical Working Group kung papaanonito madadagdagan. (Anthony Quindoy)
