JASDF TO VISIT PAF FOR DEFENSE EXCHANGE PROGRAM

The Philippine Air Force and Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) will be having a Defense Exchange Program from November 29 to December 7, 2022 at Clark Air Base, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

Approximately 60 participants from JASDF will be arriving in Manila on November 28, 2022. Top Commanders of JASDF headed by the Chief of Staff, JASDF, GEN IZUTZU SHUNJI will also arrive in December to have talks with their counterparts in the Philippine Air Force.

During this one-week exchange program, PAF and JASDF personnel composed of pilots, air crew, maintenance personnel, and air battle managers will be engaging in Unit-to-Unit Exchanges. They will share their best practices in the fields of Communication and Electronics, Civil Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, Medical Affairs, Base Defense Security, Meteorology, Air Traffic Control, Welfare Facilities, and Battle Management. Further, the participants will discuss their experiences during Pitch Black Exercise 2022.

Relatedly, the Commanding General, PAF, LTGEN CONNOR ANTHONY D CANLAS SR PAF, will have a joint press conference with the Chief of Staff, JASDF, GEN IZUTZU SHUNJI on December 7, 2022 at Clark Air Base, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

The said program aims to strengthen the long-standing relationship between the two Air Forces as they jointly develop their defense capabilities through the Unit-to-Unit Exchanges. (VICTOR BALDEMOR RUIZ)
