ITALY SUSTAINS INTERACTION WITH PH NAVY WITH VISIT OF USEC OF STATE FOR DEFENSE

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – Coinciding with the goodwill visit of Italian Navy Ship Franceso Morosini (P431) in Manila, Italy’s Undersecretary of State for Defense, Hon. Matteo Perego Di Cremnago, paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Navy (PN) headquarters on Tuesday, July 11.

He was received by PN Vice Commander, Rear Adm. Caesar Bernard Valencia, who conveyed the command’s appreciation of the mutual desire to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.


The two officials also discussed possible future undertakings highlighting the strategic partnership between the naval forces of the Philippines and Italy.

“We look forward to whatever will transpire with the bilateral agreement, as we know the capability of Marine Militare Italiana,” RAdm. Valencia stated.

Usec. Di Cremnago likewise expressed gratitude for the PN’s warm welcome and hospitality, and looked forward to more cooperation “in the field of defense especially to the naval maritime domain.”
