NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – The Philippine Navy (PN) welcomed the Chief of Staff of the Italian Navy Fleet, Rear Adm. Fabio Gregori, as he paid a courtesy call on Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., at the PN headquarters.
Said courtesy call came alongside the goodwill visit of Italian Navy Ship Franceso Morosini (P431) in Manila to further the defense ties and strengthen cooperation with Philippine counterparts.
VAdm Adaci warmly welcomed the Italian Navy delegation whom he described as “like-minded navy” and highlighted the opportunities for the two forces to meet and engage.
The two navy leaders discussed areas of collaboration like interoperability exercises, amphibious operations, training, port visits and subject matter expert exchanges.
“This will be a good leverage for doing something meaningful together and strengthening the level of our cooperation,” said RAdm Gregori.
In closing, the PN Chief assured the visiting Rear Admiral of more areas that both navies can work together in the future as the PN is always open for collaboration.
