Hinayag ni Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles na ang kapatid ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na si Irene Romualdez Marcos-Araneta ang magiging special representative nito para dumalo sa libing ni Queen Elizabeth II.
Kasama niya ang kanyang asawa na si Gregorio María Araneta III.
“Mrs. Irene Romualdez Marcos Araneta will be the President’s Special Representative who will attend the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She will be accompanied by her spouse, Mr. Gregorio María Araneta III,” pahayag ni Angeles, nitong Linggo ng gabi.
Dagdag niya, “Mrs. Marcos-Araneta and her spouse will be attending the events for the State Funeral beginning with the Lying-in-State of the Queen taking place today.”
Una nang nagpahayag ng pakikiramay ang pangulo sa pagpanaw ng reyna na aniya’y nagmarka dahil sa pagiging halimbawa ng “true monarch’s great dignity, commitment to duty, and devotion to all those in her realm.”
