Arestado ng mga tauhan ng Manila Police District -Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (MPD-SMaRT) ang isang Intelligence Agent II ng Revenue Integrity and Protection Service (RIPS),dahil sa kasong robbery, kamakalawa ng umaga sa Ground Floor ng Manila City Hall, Ermita, Maynila.
Ayon sa ulat ni PCpl Elizardo D Reputas,alas- 10:20 ng umaga nang maaresto ang suspek na si Crispin Velarde Jr., 64 , Intelligence Agent II ng Revenue Integrity and Protection Service (RIPS) at taga 133 Alley 4, General Trias St., Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City.
Si Velarde ay inaresto sa bisa ng inilabas na arrest warrant ni Presiding Judge Cirile Maduro Foja ng Manila Regional Trial Court, Branch 6, dahil sa kasong Robbery (Art. 294, Par. 5 of the RPC).
Si Velarde ay hinatulan ng korte “in absentia” sa kanyang kasong robbery. Ang RIPS ay attached agency ng Department of Finance( DOF).
Napag-alaman na naaresto si Velarde matapos ang impormasyon na ibinigay ng isang confidential informant.
Nakadetine ngayon sa SMaRT si Velarde habang hinihintay ang commitment order ng korte.
