Insurance deposit para sa work permit issuance sa Bahrain, requirement na sa manpower agencies

Naglabas ng abiso ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) na ang mga lisensiyadong manpower agencies hinggil sa pinakahuling regulatory update ng Ministry of Labour (MOL) at Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) sa Kingdom of Bahrain, na nagre-require sa kanila na magdeposito ng insurance para sa work permit.


Sa ulat ni Migrant Workers Office-Bahrain Officer-in-Charge Celia T. Viernes-Cabadonga, inimpormahan niya si DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac hinggil sa naturang major regulatory changes na inianunsiyo noong Nobyembre 5 ng LMRA, sa pamamagitan ng kanilang Chairman at Minister of Labour, na si Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan.

Sa ilalim ng Decision No. 4 of 2024, na nag-a-amiyenda sa Article (6) ng Decision No. 3 of 2014, nakasaad na ang mga licensed agencies ay required na ngayong magdeposito ng BHD 150 (P23,406) bilang insurance sa bawat work permit na iisyu sa kanila, bilang karagdagan sa regular work permit.

Nabatid na ang naturang polisiya ay aplikable sa lahat ng lisensiyadong ahensiya na nagsusuplay ng temporary contracted workers, maging ito ay hourly, daily, monthly o yearly contracts.


“The insurance deposit will be paid on top of the work permit fee and will be used to pay for the costs of repatriation should the worker be terminated. The government views this as a positive update on the regulation of the country for its temporary workers as it will relieve the burden of costs from the worker,” anang DMW.

“The new measure is aimed at protecting both the workers and the agencies involved, ensuring that the financial burden of repatriation will not be shouldered by workers in cases of contract termination or other related circumstances,” ayon naman kay Viernes-Cabadonga.


Agad na magiging epektibo sa sandaling mailathala ng Official Gazette ng Kingdom of Bahrain ang naturang requirement.
