San Jose Del Monte City, BULACAN — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is set to deport 2 foreign nationals arrested in separate operations in Pasig and Bulacan for violation of immigration laws.
According to BI intelligence division chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr., arrested last November 9 in a condominium building in Pasig City was a Ghanian identified as Benjamin Akomeah, 38.
Akomeah was the subject of a summary deportation order issued by BI’s board of commissioners, for being a an undesirable alien. Upon inspection, Akomeah was also found to be undocumented after having failed to present his passport or any immigration document.
Also arrested by immigration operatives was a 72-year-old American national. Manahan identified the foreign national as John Randall Wilson, who was arrested in coordination with the San Jose del Monte City Police Station and barangay officials in a residential home in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan last November 14.
Wilson was the subject of a mission order issued by BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco. He was reportedly found to be overstaying, and was not able to present his immigration documents, violating the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.
He was said to be the subject of numerous complaints for allegedly posting videos of children on social media and several websites.
Upon arrest, both were immediately subjected to RT PCR testing following BI health protocols, and were transferred to the BI’s holding facility in Taguig where they will temporarily remain until deportation. (JERRY S. TAN)
