KINUMPIRMA ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na gumugulong na ang imbestigasyon at paglilitis laban sa isang Philippine Air Force Major General na inakusahan ng panghahalay ng dalawang PAF Junior officers.
Ayon kay AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla , nag-convene na ang binuong special general court martial para matukoy kung may basehan ba ang hinaing o reklamo ng dalawang Air Force junior officers laban sa major general na inakusahan ng sexual assault.
Nabatid pa na bukod sa administrative charges ay pormal ding naghain ng reklamong rape through sexual assault and attempted rape through sexual assault ang dalawang air force personnel laban sa major general sa Office of the City Prosecutor sa Lipa City.
“Investigations and trials are ongoing as of this time,” ani Padilla sa ginanap na press briefing sa Camp Aguinaldo sa Quezon City.
Magugunitang nag-ugat ang reklamo sa umano’y sexual assault na naganap sa loob ng isang quarters sa Fernando Air Base sa Lipa City, Batangas.
Ang nasabing two-star general ay inuusig sa ilalim Articles of War 96 (Conduct Unbecoming an Officer and a Gentleman) and 97 (Conduct Prejudicial to Good Order and Military Discipline).
Kasalukuyang nasa military custody ang suspek at handa umanong makipagtulungan ang AFP sa ginagawang pagdinig ng civilian court at tatalima ito sa anumang requirement na hihingin ng korte.
“Dito naman sa AFP, we are one naman. This is one AFP. So, wherever, kung saan man siya i-house, that’s still part of the AFP, whether it’s going to be in the PAF or in the AFP, it’s all the same,” ani Padilla.#
