NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – The newly installed Commanding General of the United States’ I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF), Maj. Gen. Bradford Gering, made a courtesy visit at the Philippine Navy (PN) headquarters on Wednesday, November 8 where he conveyed his thrust of sustaining the gains of the US Marine Corps’ collaborative engagements with Filipino counterparts.
He was received by Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Jose Ma. Ambrosio Ezpeleta, who engaged him in fruitful conversation about plans for future exercises and bilateral training initiatives involving the PH and US Marine Corps, and the possibility of sending Filipino marines to the US to undergo schooling.
The CNS also expressed the PN’s appreciation of their unwavering support and the valuable lessons that have been shared between the two allied forces, Commander Benjo Negranza , the Philippine Navy Public Affair office chief said.
I MEF has been among the steady partners of the PN in improving the capacity and capability of its marine forces through exercises like the recently conducted Exercise Samasama 2023.
