MARIING binatikos ni Atty. Ferdinand Topacio ang Gabriela Party List dahil umano sa paggamit ng ‘trial by publicity’ laban sa kanya at sa paggawa ng mga aksyon na maituturing bilang ‘contempt.’
Ayon kay Topacio, na siya ring Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) deputy spokesman, “in their haste to once again engage in trial by publicity as it is wont to do, Gabriela must have failed to realize that disbarment proceedings are confidential.”
Aniya, kontra din sa Rules of Court ang ginagawa ng nasabing grupo dahil maituturing umano ito bilang ‘contempt.’
“Likewise, the overweening and abusive manner by which the said group has been ventilating the issue may give rise to an action for damages,” aniya.
Dagdag pa niTopacio: “They speak of rights and respect, but fail to respect the rights of others. A perceived wrong cannot be the basis for the violation of rights.”
Sa mga darating na araw ay gagawa naman umano si Topacio ng mga ‘proactive remedies remedies’.
“As usual, I will never shirk or cower from fighting for the Constitution and my good name and reputation.”You messed with the wrong person, Gabriela!!!”
