Four members of the Communist terrorist group with high powered firearms voluntarily surrendered to Northern Luzon Command’s troopers from the 95th Infantry Battalion of the Joint Task Force Tala and Joint Intelligence Operatives of JITU “MANANGBALBALIW” in Santor River, Brgy. Minanga, Penablanca, Cagayan at 5 o’clock in the afternoon, August 25, 2022.
The CTG members who surrendered were identified as Michael I. Aguinaldo alias “Jordan”/ “Russel”/ “Liniel”/ “Baby”, 26 years old; Jayson F. De Guzman alias “Michael”, 26 years old; Chrisanto S. David alias “Mikmik”/ “Edmar, 23 years old and Endong M. Banuang alias “Jay-ar”, 20 years old, all members of Komiteng Probinsya (KOMPROB) Isabela.
In a report submitted by Brig. Gen. Danilo Benavides, Commander of Joint Task Force Liberator, the said surrendered personalities brought with them eight (8) high powered firearms as follows: one (1) Kr; one (1) US M14; two (2) Colt M16; two (2) Elisco M16, one (1) M14, one (1) M79GL 40mm, and three (3) Motorola Radios.
Brig. Gen. Benavides stated that the CTG members together with their firearms are now under their custody.
Maj. Gen. Laurence Mina, Commander of Joint Task Force Tala attributed the peaceful surrender of the CTG members to the relentless effort of the 95IB led by Lt.Col. Carlos Sangdaan Jr. and the support of the residents in the area to their anti-insurgency campaign.
“Let us continue to give our utmost commitment and selfless service in performing our mandated tasks, and sustain the gains of peace and progress in our area of operations,” said Maj. Gen. Mina.
Meanwhile, the Commander of the Northern Luzon Command, Lt.Gen. Ernesto C. Torres Jr said, “The notable accomplishments we are achieving manifest the efforts of the Filipinos and their desire to attain peace and order in our communities. I also extend my gratitude to the former members and supporters of the CTG who have chosen the path of peace and return to the fold of the law in order to live their lives in peace, and the citizens who have cooperated and extended their assistance in making this possible.”
NOLCOM will continue to pursue the CTG remnants to prevent them from further executing their hostile plans against the peace, security, and development in NOLCOM’s area of responsibility. (VICTOR BALDEMOR)
