FORMER BROADCASTER JAY SONZA ARRESTED BY NBI

THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested former broadcaster Jay Sonza for cyberlibel.


The arrest is in connection with his alleged dissemination of false information regarding the health of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. over social media and the internet.

Sonza was arrested in Quezon City on Thursday in connection with the cyberlibel case he is facing.

The arrest was made after an arrest warrant was issued by the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 118 where he faces charges of unlawful use of means of publication and utterances (RPC At. 154), in relation to Sec. 6 of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.


No bail was recommended by the said court.
