The Spectrum Communications Incorporated headed by Kap. Antonio Reyes of Brgy. 146 received a firetruck donation from the Rotary International District 3810 through RC Pasay Cyber City, led by Phenomenal Leader President Elmer Francis ‘Jun’ Pasion.
‘We are extremely grateful to our Rotary International District 3810 Governor Joyce Ambray and First Gentleman Hermie Esguerra for initiating this Firetruck project. For our donation counterpart, the Rotary Club of Pasay Cyber City shouldered the additional expenses totaling to Php 380,000 (Three Hundred Thousand Pesos) for shipping, duties and taxes, truck conversion and storage. This humble Firetruck will help many communities in Pasay and will make Spectrum provide better service to neighboring cities in times of emergencies,’ said Pasion, who is also the Chairman of a national organization providing services and outreach programs to communities, the PH Cares or Pamayanang Handa-Community Advocates for Resiliency, Empowerment, and Services, Incorporated.
Pasay City has been the center of fire incidents in the last months and these organizations have always been steadfast in extending help to the victims and families affected by the unfortunate fire tragedies.
“This firetruck turnover event proves that heroism is alive in this modern day through the many men and women who are willing to contribute service and action to our fellow Filipinos. Sometimes, they are found in organizations like the Rotary Club and Ph Cares,” the recipients said. (JERRY S. TAN)
