Fetus Found at Female Restroom of NAIA Terminal 1, Ines orders probe

A joint investigation was ordered by Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Eric Ines to identify the whereabouts of the mother of a discovered at the East Departure Restroom of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Pasay City.

According to initial reports, a cleaning staff member was performing a routine garbage collection in one of the female restrooms on the afternoon of August 6, 2024, when he found a blood-soaked napkin tissue in a garbage can inside one of the cubicles.

Upon further inspection, the staff member was alarmed to discover a human fetus covered by the napkin tissue.


Members of the MIAA Airport Police Department (MIAA-APD) and the MIAA Medical Team promptly responded to the scene.

The MIAA Medical Team, led by Dr. Donita Arnesto, confirmed that the contents of the blood-stained napkin tissue was indeed a one-month-old fetus.


The remains was transported by MIAA-APD to Ninoy Aquino International Airport Police Station 1 (NAIA PS 1) for appropriate action and disposition.

The Philippine National Police Scene of the Crime Operatives (PNP SOCO) are also at the scene to conduct a forensic investigation.


A joint probe is being conducted by NAIA Police Station 1, the Airport Police Department, and Sub Station 8.
