FEMALE PASSENGER ARRESTED AT NAIA FOR ESTAFA RAPS

A joint operation by personnel from the PNP-AVSEGROUP, along with officers from the Villamor Sub-Station 9, successfully executed a warrant of arrest for a female charged with estafa at the International Departure Area, NAIA Terminal 3.

The subject of the warrant was identified as a 49-year-old beautician and resident of Oriental Mindoro, who was scheduled to depart on a flight bound for Guangzhou, China.


During the process of verification at the Bureau of Immigration, it was discovered that the accused had a pending warrant of arrest for violating Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code (Estafa) with a recommended bail set at Php40,000.00. This order was issued by Hon. Judge Jill Rose S. Saugan-Lo, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 14, Davao City, on November 22, 2016.

Upon apprehension, the accused was advised of the nature of the charges following the recitation of her constitutional rights. The arrest was documented using an Alternative Recording Device (ARD) as mandated by the Supreme Court.

The accused is currently in the custody of Villamor Sub-Station 9 for documentation and further legal action.


PBGen Christopher N Abrahano, the Director of the PNP AVSEGROUP, commended the effective and coordinated law enforcement efforts demonstrated by the authorities. “We, at the PNP AVSEGROUP, condemn all forms of criminality. We will remain vigilant and strictly adhere to legal protocols to eliminate lawless conduct and ensure a just and secure nation,” he remarked.
