Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco strengthened feedback mechanisms of the agency to improve the services of the agency.
Tansingco shared that he has issued an order to implement revised electronic and manual feedback forms for all its offices nationwide to be able to better record feedback from the public.
“These feedback forms would allow the BI to see areas for improvement, so we can study how to make things better,” said Tansingco. “Apart from complaints, of course, we would also appreciate receiving comments on processes that we are doing well, so we can continue doing them,” he added.
Tansingco addressed a social media post about a passenger complaining about the lack of accessible feedback mechanisms for the bureau, as well as her difficulty in securing the names of the immigration officers who she talked to.
“I have ordered all BI offices to ensure that feedback forms are available, and are placed in highly visible areas,” said Tansingco.
He shared that he issued a memorandum reiterating the proper wearing of nameplates, as well as identification cards.
“As public servants, we should remain accountable for our work,” said Tansingco. “Hence, all employees are supposed to wear their IDs, and our officers are required to wear their nameplates for easier identification,” said Tansingco.
Tansingco also directed all immigration supervisors at the country’s ports to report any violation to his office, warning that non-compliance would warrant strict disciplinary action.
