The family of the murdered radio broadcaster Percival “Percy Lapid” Masaba is rejoicing over the results of the second autopsy performed by Forensic Pathologist expert Dr. Raquel Fortun on the body of the alleged middleman in the Lapid slay case who intentionally killed Cristito “Jun” Villamor.
According to Atty. Berteni “Toto” Cataluña Causing, the family of Percy Lapid was very happy with the release of the second autopsy report because it is a great help in the case of the murdered radio broadcaster and possible identification of the mastermind.
It appears that the alleged middleman was killed inside the prison on purpose and it also appears that what Joel Escorial is saying is true about the surrendered gunman who shot Lapid with the middleman and that their broker came from within the Bilibid Prison itself, said Atty Causing, a local resident speaking of the Mabasa family.
“We are looking for evidence that the order (to kill Lapid) came from inside (Bilibid) that there really was a middleman and he was really killed,” explained the lawyer.
Now it’s not just a murder case, it’s a double murder. And if there really is a middleman inside, and it is really being killed on purpose, that means someone ordered it and there is also someone above it, Atty Causing added.
It will be recalled that Dr. Fortun announced that the death of Jun Villamor was a case of homicide based on the medico legal examination he conducted on his corpse.
It is said that the asphyxia history of the deceased New Bilibid Prison (NBP) inmate Cristito “Jun” Villamor, who was allegedly a middleman in the case of Percy Lapid’s murder, was found to be possibly from “plastic bag suffocation”.
Based on the second autopsy performed by Dr. Raquel Fortun, a forensic pathologist, said that among her findings was “plastic bag suffocation” or the use of a plastic bag on the head that caused the inmate to be unable to breathe.
“The autopsy findings showed no gross morphologic cause of death and this is consistent with the reported asphyxia,” said Dr. Fortune in his reports. “Based on available information regarding the circumstances surrounding death, the manner is homicide.”
It will be recalled that the Mabasa family requested a new independent autopsy on Percy’s body when they failed in the first autopsy released by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) which allegedly showed that Villamor died of heart hemorrhage and there were no signs of any physical injuries on his body.
