City of San Jose Del Monte Police chief Col Rannie Lumactod’s staff arrested a former policeman after receiving a report that he shot his son twice in the head inside their house early yesterday morning.
According to Co Lumactod, the shooting happened around 4:00 in the morning at the house of father and son in B3 L5 Phase F1, Francisco Homes 1, Brgy. Narra, SJDM, Bulacan.
The victim, Erickson Contreras Galapate, 26, a security guard, died on the spot due to two bullet wounds from a caliber 9mm pistol.
The suspect-father of the victim, Enrique Tutaan Galapte, 62, from the same place and a retired cop, is currently in jail.
Before the shooting, the investigation revealed that the father and son had been drinking all night, which ended around 3:20 in the morning, October 24, 2022.
It is said that the suspect was drunk so when he attacked his son while accusing him of being a thief from which a heated argument ensued.
The suspect took his gun and shot the victim twice in the head, causing his immediate death.
The relatives of the father and son immediately called the office of Col Lumactod’s. Some personnel of the Police Community Precinct 1 and SJDM PNP-SWAT and Rescue ambulance team led by Isagani Avilla responded and declared the victim dead on the spot .
One Pietro Beretta 9mm with PNP engraved marking with defaced serial number was recovered from the crime scene.
