Ito ang inihayag ni incoming Defense Department Officer in Charge retired General Jose Faustino Jr., hinggil sa mga prayoridad na programa na kanyang tutukan oras na pormal ng hawakan ang defense portfolio.
As the alter-ego of the President in the defense department, I will see to it that the DND will have a very good collaborative and consultative relationship with other government agencies.
Ayon kay incoming DND OIC Ret, General Faustino, ipagpapatuloy din niya ang pagpapalakas pa ng pwersa ng hanay ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Nasa third horizon na aniya ang AFP modernization program at nais niyang mas mapalakas pa ang territorial at external defense capability ng AFP.
Pahayag pa ni Faustino, tutukan niya ang AFP modernization upang mas maging reliable at credible ang militar sa pag depensa ng mga territorial water at maritime sovereignty ng Pilipinas.
Una nang inihayag ni incoming President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., na ni single square inch ng teritoryo ng Pilipinas ay hindi maangkin. While we are protecting our territory, as instructed by the President, we will continue to engage our regional neighbors

Bukod sa AFP modernization, tutukan din daw ng bagong DND OIC ang epekto ng climate change, natural disasters, terrorism at susuportahan ang mga law enforcement para matigil ang kriminalidad at transaksyon ng iligal na droga sa bansa.
Magtutuloy-tuloy rin daw ang momentum ng AFP sa pagtugis sa mga o address criminality and illegal drugs, cyber security, at ang momentum sa kampanya para matapos na ang local communist armed conflict.
Sinabi rin ni Faustino na suportado niya ang mga matagumpay na programa sa pamamagitan ng peace agreement ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) at Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
Si Faustino ay mananatiling DND OIC at Undersecretary ng DND hanggang November 13 pagkalipas ng isang taong ban sa pag-appoint ng mga retired military officer. (VICTOR BALDEMOR)
