The Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM), Armed Forces of the Philippines, received the Pasasalamat Award from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office III for its continued support to disaster response operations in Central Luzon for the year 2024.
The award was presented by Venus F. Rebuldela, Regional Director of DSWD Field Office III, during a ceremony held on 22 April 2025 at the Laus Group Event Center in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. NOLCOM Commander, LIEUTENANT GENERAL FERNYL G. BUCA PAF, personally accepted the award, which recognizes NOLCOM’s steadfast commitment and partnership in ensuring the safety and well-being of disaster-affected communities.
DSWD acknowledged NOLCOM’s critical role in the delivery of humanitarian assistance and its operational support during natural and man-made disasters across Central Luzon. The Pasasalamat Award is part of DSWD’s annual stakeholder recognition program that honors partners who actively contribute to the agency’s mission.
LTGEN BUCA emphasized the importance of whole-of-government and whole-of-nation efforts in disaster management, and the recognition given to NOLCOM reflects the unwavering dedication of the AFP to serve and protect our people, especially in times of crisis. NOLCOM remains committed to working side-by-side with the DSWD and other agencies in delivering timely and effective disaster response.
As a Jointly-Engaged, Sustainment-Maintained, and Readiness-Trained force, NOLCOM continues to support interagency operations in pursuit of a secure and resilient Northern and Central Luzon.
