DOTr Sec. Bautista, CAAP, visit Sangley Airport

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) through its Secretary Jaime Bautista, along with Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Acting Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo and DOTr Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Roberto “Bobby” Lim, paid a visit to the completed and ongoing projects at Sangley Airport.

The completed Sangley Airport Development Project (Phase I) was a P515 million project that involved the construction of hangars, passenger terminal building, maintenance building and powerhouse, as well as runway asphalt overlay and runway shoulder grade correction.

Meanwhile, the Secretary also inspected the ongoing development projects at the airport (Phase II), which include the construction of two more hangars, pump stations, sheet piling works, airside strip development, reclamation works, and drainage works. The P462.9 million (Program Amount) Sangley Airport Development Project (Phase II) began on March 25, 2022 and is set to be completed by May 20, 2023.

Ricardo Banayat, AFP (Ret.), CAAP Area Center III Manager Glenn Tripulca, DOTr Director for Project Management OIC Edgardo Mangalili, and CAAP Aerodrome Development and Management Service (ADMS) Aerodrome Operations Department (AOD) Department Manager III Engr. Raul Glorioso also joined the Secretary, Undersecretary, and ADG during the inspection at the said airport. (Baby Cuevas)
