Binalaan ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang mga government officials na makikipagtulungan sa isinasagawang imbestigasyon ng International Criminal Court (ICC) sa war on drugs ni dating Pang. Rodrigo Duterte.na maaari umano silang maparusahan alinsunod sa batas.
Matatandaang sinabi ni dating Senator Antonio Trillanes IV na direkta nang nakikipag-komunikasyon ang mga imbestigador ng ICC sa nasa 50 aktibo at dating opisyal ng pulisya kaugnay ng umano’y naging papel ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa anti-illegal drugs campaign ng bansa.
Ayon kay DOJ Assistant Secretary Mico Clavano, nananatili pa rin ang posisyon ng pamahalaan na hindi nito kikilalanin ang hurisdiksiyon ng ICC sa Pilipinas at hindi rin makikipagtulungan ang bansa sa isinasagawa nitong imbestigasyon.
Ani Clavano, ang mga opisyal na di tatalima sa naturang polisiya ay maaaring mapanagot dahil sa paglabag sa mga probisyon ng Republic Act 6713 o The Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
Hindi umano ito naga-apply sa mga dating opisyal na ngayon ay mga sibilyan na.
“Well, as mentioned by the Solicitor General, this is a government policy. “So, when a government officer or official is coordinating with the ICC against the direction or the orders and the policy of the government, there may be accountability involved,” paliwanag pa ni Clavano.
“So, it’s… you know, if there’s any law enforcement or government official that goes against the policies and orders of the authorities in position, then obviously there will be some sort of conflict of interest, there will be accountabilities and definitely liabilities that go with it,” dagdag nito.
