AGAD na naglabas ng paglilinaw ang tanggapan ng National Security Adviser at liderato ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) hinggil sa lumutang na isyu ng destabilisasyon diumano laban sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, Jr.
Ito ay kasunod ng ulat hinggil sa pakikipag-usap ni AFP chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner sa kasundaluhan sa ginanap na change of command ceremony para sa bagong pinuno ng AFP Western Mindanao Command.
Ayon kay National Security Adviser Eduardo Año, ” Chief of Staff, AFP was misquoted or misinterpreted by the media while he was talking to the troops.”
Mariing inihayag kahapon sa inilabas na statement ni Sec. Año na walang destabilization plot o movement laban sa pamahalaan at nanatiling tapat umano ang AFP at ang buong security sector sa commander-in-chief at hindi kailanman maimpluwensyang para sumama sa anumang destabilization plot laban sa gobyerno.
Maging si AFP Spokesman Col. Medel Aguilar ay agad na naglabas ng paglilinaw na …”General Romeo S Brawner, Jr, the Chief of Staff, AFP, was simply misquoted. ”
“In his message to the troops during the Change of Command Ceremony of the Western Mindanao Command yesterday, November 3, 2023, he merely mentioned the reported efforts by certain individuals to upset the peace and stability that the country is enjoying right now under the leadership of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. Therefrom, General Brawner again reminded all AFP personnel to remain professional and loyal to their oath to protect the people and the State,” ani Col Aguilar.
“Yes, there were healthy and passionate exchanges/debates among some retired or former military officers and even some criticism against certain policies of the current administration, but they are within the bounds of our democratic space. Although oftenly abused, they are part of the freedom of expression where most are academic discussions or politically motivated paglilinaw ng NSA,” ani Año.
Paalala pa nitong nanatiling mapagmatyag ang security sectors at nakahandang magsagawa ng anumang pagkilos laban sa anumang grupo na bumabale-wala sa ating national security.
Dagdag pa ni Año, “nanatiling mataas ang trust rating ng PBBM administration na nangangahulugan na nasisiyahan ang taong bayan sa performance ng pamahalaan sa paghahatid ng serbisyo sa sambayanan at pagtugon sa mga concerns and issues.”
