David Chua, a TV director for multiple known shows, is currently running as a Councilor for District 2 in Manila under the slate of Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo.
He aims to help uplift our local tourism and economy through the lens of his media experience.
“Back when I was working as a director, traveling to different filming locations across the country, I’d often hear the same reaction whenever I mentioned I was from Tondo. Everyone looked shocked, even scared or concerned. That always hit me. It made me realize how deeply misunderstood our community is. That’s why I’m running: to help change that narrative and show the true spirit of Tondo, a community that is proud, creative, and full of potential,” he said.
