David Bunevacz, who used to be a popular figure in the Philippines not only as a former Philippine national athlete and model but moreso for his shortlived career in showbiz, has reportedly pleaded guilty to two charges of fraud involving US$37 million.
The now 53-year-old Bunevacz, who is already based in California, was said to have victimized investors in a cannabis-based business scam.
He was said to have pleaded guilty before a California Central District federal judge hearing his case, to one count each of securities and wire fraud.
He reportedly set up fake cannabis vaping businesses and duped investors of $37 million.
Bunevacz is facing up to 40 years in prison and his sentencing had been set to November.
