HINIHILING ni Mayor Honey Lacuna sa lahat ng taga-Maynila na makiisa sa mga nag-aalay ng dasal para sa mabilis at tuluyang paggaling ni Pope Francis, na dinala sa Ospital noong February 14, 2025 dahil sa bronchitis.
Ang pahayag ni Lacuna ay bilang suporta sa naunang panawagan ni Manila Archbishop Jose F. Cardinal Advincula at ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) para sa panalangin, upang patuloy na magampanan ni Pope Francis ang kanyang tungkulin nang may mataas na kaalaman at determinasyon bilang lider ng Katolikong mananampalataya sa buong mundo.
Iniulat ng Holy See Press Office na ang kondisyon ng 88-anyos na Santos Papa ay nagpapakita ng “ complex picture” at nalaman sa isinagawang tests na siya ay may bilateral pneumonia na nangangailangan ng karagdagang gamutan.
Patuloy na ini-examine sa Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic ang Santo Papa kung saan din siya ginagamot.
Sa mga naunang resulta ng mga isinagawang tests ay nakita umano na gumaganda na ang kondisyon ng Santo Papa. Ganun pa man ay sasailalim pa rin sa serye ng diagnostic tests ang Santo Papa upang matiyak na nakabalik na ang normal na kalagayan nito.
“In union with the whole Church, let us pray fervently for the healing of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. Archbishop Charles John Brown, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, has made an appeal to pray for the speedy recovery of the Holy Father as well as for all the doctors and nurses who are taking care of him,” ani Advincula.
“In response to this call, I would like to request our parishes and communities to organize community prayers for the intention of Pope Francis, like gathering our people for a Holy Hour for the Healing of the Sick, especially of the Pope. Let us likewise offer our personal and family prayers for this intention.:et us unite ourselves in prayer in this trying time for the Church,” dagdag pa nito.
