Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno returned to his hometown on April 25, 2026, as guest of honor and keynote speaker at the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) – Malabon’s 1st General Membership Meeting, Induction, and Turnover Ceremonies held in Malabon City.
In his address, Commissioner Nepomuceno shared reflections rooted in his upbringing in Malabon, underscoring how these continue to shape his approach to public service. He emphasized accountability as a core principle, noting that his commitment to integrity and performance is anchored in his desire to uphold the pride and trust of his hometown.
“There are principles that you should never compromise—principles that, once you face yourselves in the morning, kaya niyong sabihin sa sarili niyo, iyong lahat ng pinangangako ko ginagawa ko,” the Commissioner said, as he underscored the importance of living up to one’s word and responsibilities.
The event was attended by Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, who recognized the Bureau’s current performance and reforms, while PCCI Malabon President Dr. Grace Z. Francisco-Torres expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s presence and message, particularly as the organization welcomed 80 new members into its ranks. Commissioner Nepomuceno likewise congratulated the inductees, emphasizing the critical role of micro, small, and medium enterprises in driving local and national economic growth.
He also delivered a clear leadership message to the city’s business community, highlighting discipline, hard work, compassion, adherence to core principles, long-term vision, and faith as essential to effective leadership. “A vibrant Malabon will help a vibrant national economy and let’s make our city proud and I’m proud of Malabon,” he added, encouraging the new members to uphold integrity and innovation as they contribute to the continued development of the business community.
