CRSAFP eyes creation of new group to support WestMinCom’s external defense campaign

Maj. Gen. Ramon Zagala, Commander of the Civil Relations Service Armed Forces of the Philippines (CRSAFP) visited the Western Mindanao Command in Zamboanga City on February 15, 2024.

In his visit, Maj. Gen. Zagala stated that the CRSAFP is planning to create another civil relations group (CRG) that will focus on supporting the external defense campaign of WestMinCom by providing information-related capabilities.


Maj. Gen. Zagala will visit the civil relations units within the WestMinCom area of operation to boost the morale of troops and check on the capability requirements to ensure mission accomplishment.

During his arrival at WestMinCom, Maj. Gen. Zagala was welcomed with company-sized military honors rendered by the officers and personnel of the unit.

He was received by Col. Emmanuel Cabasan, the Chief of Unified Command Staff at the Laong Laan Hall of the Command. Lt. Col. Andrew Linao, the Group Commander of the 4th Civil Relations Group joined Col. Cabasan and the Unified Command Staff in welcoming the distinguished visitor.


Maj. Gen. Zagala assumed as the commander of CRSAFP on October 2023. He is a seasoned Army officer who has handled various key positions in the AFP. Prior to his current position, he was the Commander of the Presidential Security Group (PSG).
