Kinumpirma kahapon ni National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) Executive Director Usec Ernesto Torres, Jr. ang pagkakadakip sa isang mataas na pinuno ng Communist New Peoples Army na nagtatago sa Malaysia.
Ayon kay Usec. Torres, nadakip at agad na ipinatapon pabalik ng Pilipinas si Eric Casilao, isa sa nalalabing notorious leaders ng Communist Terrorist Group, na tumatayong Secretary ng Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC) at active member ng Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).
“We can now declare that the SMRC, particularly its armed component, is now totally defeated”, ani Torres.
“On behalf of the Task Force, led by no less than President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. as our chairman and National Security Adviser Secretary Eduardo Ano as vice chairman, I would like to congratulate the Joint Regional Task Force 11 (JRTF 11); the Peace, Law Enforcement and Development Support (PLEDS) Cluster headed by DND Undersecretary Angelito De Leon; and the International Engagement (IE) Cluster led by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Jesus Domingo for working hand in hand with Malaysian officials in causing the arrest and subsequent deportation of Mr. Casilao,” dagdag pa ni Usec Torres.
Kasabay nito ang pagpapasalamat ng NTF-ELCAC sa kanilang Malaysian counterparts.
Tiniyak pa ni Torres na hindi si lang si Casilao ang huli sa mga madadakip ng pamahalaan sa mga susunod na araw at magbabayad sa kanilang mga nagawa sa bayan.
“They can run and hide but we will not be far behind,” ani Torres.
